Reproductive medicine and assisted fertilization are of central concern in any modern culture or human society relying on modern medicine (Ginsburg and Rapp, 1991). Consequently, morals and ethics are always already present in the clinical work, both in the very monitoring practices and regulations and in the interaction between staff and clients, and therefore the study of assisted fertilization is by no means a strictly scholarly pursuit, aiming at inscribing theories into practices, but it is also part of the reproduction of the moral economy of assisted fertilization.
